After
gaining a following in Birmingham, the Atkins-led Priest recorded a demo
in 1971. Many of the songs that were written by Al Atkins were later
sung by Rob Halford. Consequently, the album, Rocka Rolla gives a
portrait of Atkins' original vision for the band.
A visionary legend, credited with being one of the founding fathers of what became known as Heavy Metal...Al Atkins influence on rock music continues to reverberate today, with legions of bands across the world inspired by and still following in the footsteps of Judas Priest!

The Fender Music Foundation
The Fender Music Foundation was created to provide funding and resources for music programs across America so that kids and adults alike will have an opportunity to experience the joys of music. We also educate the public on the value of a musical education. With your help, we can make a difference in people's lives by providing them a gift that lasts a lifetime.
At FMF, we are committed to supporting music education in our schools and music learning for everyone. We believe that music makes an important difference – it improves SAT scores, reading and math skills, social skills and self-discipline. Music enhances higher brain function, develops quick and decisive thinking and builds teamwork. These valuable skills stay with us throughout life. Because of that commitment, we are pleased to bring you these links to helpful music organizations and resources.

Indie Rock Band Rabbit! Releases 33-Song Double Album
Connect The Dots and Go For It, on April 10, Kicks Off Spring 2012 with a Cause - Rabbit! to Support The Fender Music Foundation with Album Fundraising Efforts
This spring, Rabbit! is partnering up with The Fender Music Foundation and re-releasing their first two records as a 33-song mega-album, giving half of the proceeds to The Fender Music Foundation. The album, entitled Connect The Dots and Go For It, will be available at the normal price of one album download and has a digital release date of Tuesday, April 10.
"When we connected with FMF, we knew we wanted to help out their cause in any way we could," says band co-founder Ashton Allen. "Their mission really speaks to us when it comes to music education and finding creative ways to provide additional resources for kids."
Allen, along with his band cohorts Devin Moore, Emma Branch and Yara, form Rabbit!, an indie electro-acoustic bubble gum pop collective that writes and plays music with the unique ability to coalesce the "family unit," making songs that are as accessible to adults as they are fun for children, “tweens,” and teens. Rabbit! has been lovingly labeled "kids music for adults," with songs catchy and vibrant enough to appeal to the youngest of listeners, yet with enough wit and sophisticated craftsmanship to give grownups something to sink their teeth into.
Rabbit! has gained recent attention through several national TV commercials, as their sound has been featured in all-ages-friendly ads from brands such as Frito Lay, Mott's, Baskin-Robbins and Crayola. Last summer, they toured 45 cities in 48 days, using their travels to not only share their happy brand of indie pop but also as an opportunity to get out of the typical club circuit and experience, explore, and learn about people and programs that celebrate kids, music and a true sense of community. Rabbit! is currently in heavy rotation on Sirius XM Radio's "Kids Place Live" station and can also be heard as the "hold" music when you call online retail giant, Zappos.com.
The Fender Music Foundation believes that music participation is an essential element in the fabric of an enduring society. The organization aims to keep music education alive and available in our nation’s schools and communities. Founded in 2005, this public charity has reached over 147,000 people through its grants to music education programs. These grant recipients, which give more people the opportunity to make music, include school music classrooms, community based organizations and music therapy programs.

COMEDY CENTRAL’s First
“Indecision” App Available Now On iTunes
COMEDY
CENTRAL
has announced today the launch of “‘COMEDY

a new iOS-optimized election news and political humor app.
The “Election Companion” app,
sponsored by AT&T, is available now as a free iTunes download for iPhones

“‘COMEDY CENTRAL’s Indecision’ Election Companion” app
delivers iPad and iPhone users exclusive politics-centric content
through an iOS-optimized version of the “Indecision”
blog; a photo gallery called “Snap Shots,” which captures the 24-hour news
cycle in images and jokes; a 2012 Election Calendar; and an app-only
exclusive “Peanut Gallery” commentary feature, which
provides a second-screen experience for nationally-televised political talk
shows, debates and speeches. The
“Peanut Gallery” also includes exclusive live commentary from Indecision
bloggers and special guests, and offers real-time interactive “Reacticons”

For example, users can post “Reacticons” such as “Cry-Baby,” “Dunce,”

COMEDY CENTRAL’s Indecision -- the network's award-winning brand of political coverage --began in 1992 with the Al Franken-hosted “State of the Union: Undressed.” This unprecedented, live comedic coverage of President George Bush’s 1992 State of the Union Address was made possible only after COMEDY CENTRAL successfully pressured ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN to provide the network access to the pool feed of the speech.
Today, comedy fans and politicos can follow “COMEDY CENTRAL’s Indecision,” the digital extension of the network’s political coverage, by logging onto indecision.cc.com, following Indecision on Tumblr, liking the Indecision page on Facebook, following @indecision on Twitter or subscribing to daily Liberal Agenda and Conservative Marching Orders sent directly to mobile phones via text message.

Review of the Tempo KR USB Condenser
Microphone from MXL / Marshall Electronics
B
Music Recording and the advances in Recording
Technologies have escalated hand in hand throughout the decades. We have
seen that whether it is in professional studio or small / home studio
situations the musician or artist has searched for equipment that enhances
their natural sounds and talents while being flexible in use and matches
their budgets. Today we have seen many technical advances that allow the use
of personal computers, laptops, iOs tablets and smartphones to record
anytime or anywhere. To meet this need, many companies have developed
microphones to connect to the computer systems through their USB ports, some
claim to be “plug and play” but require specific, hard to use or share
software or is made from flimsy, easily damaged materials, making them a
poor replacement for the standard microphones of the recording industry.
Whether an artist is in the studio or in the home studio, the goal is
crystal clear audio quality, ease of use / functionality and quick
implementation or integration into existing studio systems. Musicians and
Artists everywhere have found this to be a daunting, and at times,
impossible task to achieve, even with large budgets.
MXL, a division of Marshall Electronics has risen
to the call for a microphone to meet the needs of the professional artist,
the home studio artist, and the technical savvy/experimenting artist with a
revolutionary design in USB Condenser Microphone technology. The Tempo KR
and Tempo SK USB Condenser Microphone series is the perfect blend of
traditional – high quality, studio grade recording microphone and the
flexibility of “Home Studio” or “On the Move” digital recording end user. We
at Xombiewoof.Com Magazine received a Tempo KR USB Condenser Microphone to
put to the test and evaluate for this review article, and we are seriously
impressed.
Musicians are a very enthusiastic and often athletic
sort, from the guitarist that tried a “windmill” while jumping up and down
and found that stages are slippery or drummers that thought knocking over
their set for a fantastic finish make for a painful landing if they weren’t
careful- stage acrobatics can cause a quick end to a show or delay a tour.
As a Drummer, I had my fair share of bumps, bruises, strains and sprains,
and I have to say it is no picnic, finding an ER or a clinic at 1am after an
incident at a show is not easy either. I have had to keep a major first aid
kit with my gear, but never had an easy to use pain relief that would allow
me to keep going through a show if I had a fall or accident. Now, some years
later I have found one such product, it is the results of major pain relief
research and is simple to use and does the job, it is called Physicool™, and
I have to admit it is a true wonder.

IK Multimedia Ships iKlip Studio
The Desktop Studio Stand for iPad
is now shipping
Multimedia proudly announces that iKlip™ Studio, the iPad® desktop studio stand, is now available and shipping worldwide. iKlip Studio is designed and created specifically for musicians but can be used by anyone needing a sturdy, non-slip, adjustable stand for all iPads, including the just released 3rd generation iPad.
iKlip Studio is constructed of lightweight,
shock-resistant, durable thermoplastic material that reliably supports the
iPad in both horizontal and vertical positions. Rubber foot pads grip the
desktop surface and prevent unwanted sliding, and convenient slots in the
housing allow access to every port of the device for charging or connecting
to external speakers with handy channels for keeping the cables neatly
organized.
Apps like synthesizers, beat pads and other instruments can be played
energetically on the multi-touch screen with no risk of the device moving or
sliding. Its flexible orientation allows its position to tilt from a very
low-profile angle – ideal for use with apps like mixers or controllers – to
a near-vertical position for use as a reader for tablatures or scores placed
behind keyboard controllers.
A detachable bracket is also included to hold IK’s
hugely popular iRig™ guitar interface adapter in place and keep it from
hanging off the iPad, and for extreme portability, the iKlip Studio folds
flat so it can be easily carried in any iPad or laptop bag.
iKlip Studio costs
$29.99/€24.99 (excluding taxes) and is now available from select music and
electronics retailers worldwide, or direct from the IK Multimedia online
store, For more information go to www.iklipstudio.com

KRK Subwoofers Deliver Ultra-Accurate Bass Extension Revealing the Depths of the Mix
KRK® Systems, part of the new Gibson Pro Audio division and a leading provider of professional monitors, subwoofers, headphones and control room solutions, is pleased to announce that its innovative powered subwoofers, the KRK 12sHO and KRK 12s, are now shipping worldwide.
The KRK 12sHO is the ultimate expression of a subwoofer, delivering the intense, focused bass response necessary for demanding high-level applications, while the KRK 12s, designed to be a workhorse subwoofer for music production, is ideal when the precise representation of the bass frequency spectrum is necessary.
