Article and review by Joseph Timmons, Xombiewoof Magazine
Last year I met an artist at the NAMM Convention in Anaheim California, a young and energetic man who seemed to be unpacking a small suitcase on stage, only to see that the suitcase was turned into a percussion set, a small amp and he transformed into one of those old time movie one man bands you see in the old black and white comedies. He stood up and to a small but growing crowd he introduced himself, with a crooked smile just under his mustache and a small twitch of his finger he began to entrance and get the crowd moving, swaying and swarming to the rhythms and cheering at every note. I got to talk to him for a bit, exchanged emails and before I could turn around to talk to him, he vanished, out of sight and as if he was never there. He appeared as if a ghost of Woodstock and darkened coffee clubs of yesteryear.

Xombiewoof Interview with JD Hardy
The story of the Old West, with images of men larger than life, heroes of the dusty trails and cold desert nights, are still told these days. There have been many tall tales of even taller men that ride high in the saddle yet look to the heavens above for guidance. Here is a tale of one such legend, a man that towers among his peers and has songs in his throat that tell of good times and bad. A man with a six string as his weapon, he sings of the traditional values, love of his country, and of the daily survival in this world we live in. This mountain of a man I speak of is the one known as JD Hardy: no ice, no water, straight up and double down.

CYCLE OF PAIN New album / US EP Release Date NOV. the 27th !
Noveber the 27th, 2013 will see Cycle of Pain unleashing their brand of groovy, funk influenced heavy rock. A video featuring Don Jamieson from 'That metal show' is currently under production.
John J.D. DeServio’s career as a bassist can be defined only as formidable and impressive. His time spent with Black Label Society has taken him around the world and made him a sought after bassist for clinics from Japan to South America and back. But long before he began globetrotting J.D. started out like most accomplished musicians, in the garage with a band and whiskey. 25 years later, that same band has emerged as Cycle of Pain with an intense and diverse self titled hard rock album.
At 15 years old, J.D. began practicing his favorite Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, and Scorpions tunes with good friends Joe Taylor (Guitar) and Gregg Locascio (Drums/Vocals). Despite the many high profile moments in their careers (Lita Ford, Vinnie Moore, Drill, Rich Kotzen, BLS, and many more), the old band has always aspired to record and tour together. In 2009 they made that dream come true, releasing the self titled Cycle of pain cd on Reform records.
The band had music on American TV shows; Sons of anarchy, Burn notice and many more, as well touring with the likes of BLS, Sevendust, and Shinedown. They also received “The Doobie Award” from High Times magazine. And now after several years they will be releasing their second endeavor on Sliptrick records out of Italy. The first EP is due out this summer. The band consists of John “JD” DeServio (bass/vox) Gregg Locascio (lead vox)Joe Taylor ( guitars) Bobby Pantella (drums) and Troy Cromwell (keys).
Though rooted in metal, COP’s first album delved into elements of funk, hip-hop and soul. Cycle Of Pain (the album) also features performances by Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society, Ozzy), Ray Luzier (Korn) Brian Tichy (Billy Idol), Sen Dog (Cypress Hill), Russ-T Cobb, Hugo Ferreira (Tantric), Marcus Ratzenboeck (Tantric), Clip Payne (P-funk), Burton C Bell (Ascension of Watchers, Fear Factory) & Russell Allen (Symphony X) and Rich Monica (Tantric) on drums.
Cycle of Pain current line-up features:
John “JD” Deservio (Bass)
Joe Taylor (Lead Guitar)
Gregg Locascio (Vox, Guitar)
Bob Pantella (Drums)
Troy Cromwell (Keys)

Delivering the Black - The new album out on Frontiers in January
“Delivering The Black” combines the strongest Primal Fear moments ever, with a well-balanced typical PRIMAL FEAR trademark riff-vibe, crushing songs and some very ambitious musical journeys. The centerpiece of the album is the two epic tracks “When Death Comes Knocking” and the 10 minute opus “One Night In December”, spiced with big orchestral arrangements and complex sound designs.
Scheepers says: “We worked
hard to create our best album ever. I already felt the vibe during the
pre-production, that we were working on something very special this
time! And now the result is just an amazing Metal album, I’m extremely
proud of!” Producer/bassist
Mat Sinner adds: “The songs, the production, the sound – this album is a very special one
for me and my career. In my view everybody in the band just did a killer
job and Jacob was fantastic choice to mix the album!”
